About Doer
Doer is a marketplace for local services. Someone needs a tap fixed, a room rewired, a child tutored or a van driven; someone nearby does that for a living. Doer is the shortest line between the two.
Why it exists
Finding a good tradesperson still mostly runs on luck and a relative's phone number. The person who did a neighbour's bathroom well is invisible to everyone three streets away, and the person with the best advertising budget is not usually the best at the job.
So Doer is built around evidence rather than advertising. A rating can only be left by somebody who actually hired the doer, the numeric score can never be moderated or bought off, and a doer's position in your results comes from distance and rating — not from what they paid us.
How it works
If you need something done
Search by service, or describe the job in your own words and let the assistant work out the trade. Compare doers near you on price, rating and what previous customers wrote. Message before you commit, then book a time. If nobody nearby fits, post what you need and let doers come to you.
If you do the work
List your services and set your own prices — by the hour, per visit, per job, or by quotation. Choose the hours you work and the area you cover. Accept or decline each request. Build a profile from finished jobs and the reviews they earn, and reply to public requests from people looking for exactly what you do.
The rules we hold ourselves to
Ratings come from real jobs
A star rating can only be left against a booking that was completed. A doer with a subscription can decline to publish a written comment, but never the score itself.
Customers stay private
Doers are public because they chose to be listed. Customers are not. Names on our public activity feed are masked, addresses never appear, and a date of birth is never shown to anyone — only an age band is ever derived from it.
We introduce, we do not employ
Doers on the platform are independent businesses. They set their prices and answer for their own work. We are honest about that rather than implying a guarantee we are not in a position to give.
A verified badge means one specific thing
That we checked identity documents. It is a check on who somebody is, not a warranty of how well they work, and we do not let it be read as one.
Where Doer works
Doer is growing city by city, and a place appears on the site only once a real doer covers it. Nothing on the locations page is a placeholder for a town we hope to reach.

Doer is only as useful as the people on it. If you do this work for a living, listing is free.
